pursuing passions in a time of stress

6/9/2020

During a time when events around us evoke anger, concern, and fear, it is easy to lose our drive, motivation, and confidence at work. This is understandable, yet it can be overcome. In this moment when your business contacts need you the most, finding ways to override the negative feelings through positive actions can help you get through these challenging times.
Successful business people who can consistently bring on new clients believe in three important things:
  1. the company/firm they represent
  2. the quality of services/products they provide to their clients
  3. themselves.
I am going to assume that you have 1 and 2 covered, which shines the light on just you.

If you do not believe in yourself, it makes growing a successful business extremely difficult. This starts with taking care of your mental attitude, especially when so much around you is negative.

Here are a few important questions to ask yourself:

Are you allowing enough time in your weekly routine to enjoy what you like doing most outside of work?

Whether exercise, cooking, painting, music, or meditation, are you honoring enough time in your routine to do it?

Are you doing enough to recharge your batteries, clear your mind, and put a smile on your face?

Personal time and passions are so important for not only your mental, and often physical wellbeing, but also for the way you interact with the people around you.

More importantly, this state of mind can have a tremendous impact in building your confidence, conviction, and perseverance.  Ingredients that are paramount in helping you win new clients and grow your business.

I often hear “novel idea but I don’t have time to pursue my passions.”

I get it. Many of you have incredibly busy lives, but we all get 24 hours in a day. It comes down to how you prioritize those hours. Even if you start by carving out 30 minutes a day and putting it on your calendar.

Getting back to what you love doing most can help bring a healthier balance into your life, which can directly impact the success of your business.
